A Great Way to Save Some Green & BE Green!
OK, so let’s get this straight: We’re officially in a “recession”, we’re smack dab in the middle of the Holiday season and you are trying to plan your wedding to have all the rockstar elements a girl like you should have. Unless you recently planted that magical money tree in your yard, you need all the help you can get to get the most for your dollar, right?
Enter BravoBride. Think of it as “Ebay for Brides”. After all the celebrating is over, what are you really going to do with 125 flameless candles and the 30 Japanese paper lanterns that decorated the Most Beautiful Wedding Ever? (Who even has space to store all that stuff anyway?) Brides-to-be can shop by category for tons of items used only once (some never even came out of the box!) at a way cheaper price than retail. Everything from Monique Lhuiller wedding gowns and handbags to candelabras and aisle runners. Even ties for all your groomsmen! Just like Ebay, not everything is going to be your style, but items are added everyday, so it doesn’t hurt to check it out occasionally. And because being ecofriendly in your wedding planning is not just a passing phase, you are, in your own small way, being a Green Bride (tres chic!).
Then, when your Big Day is over, you too can list some of your own items and start saving for the second honeymoon you are already planning!
Even if you’re not a Bride, there are some pretty sweet deals available for your next soiree. Here’s an example:
Seven apothecary jars in various sizes for $10/each. Great for centerpieces, a candy or popcorn bar, and table numbers or just fabulous decor!
I’m curious, but what would you and would you NOT be willing to purchase “gently used” for your wedding?

This is where I rent a storage unit and fill it up, right? I wish!

This idea is such a long time coming. Gosh, I still have stuff up in my attic from my wedding… seven years ago! The chair bows, and candle holders, and gobs of other stuff I bought that I had absolutely no use for after the wedding. I think the only thing I personally wouldn’t have been willing to go used on would have been my dress. I definitely felt like I deserved a new dress, but everything else would have been game!

I am so glad people are doing this! Recycling on levels is so great. When I got married I would not have purchased a used dress. No way. I wanted brand new custom fit to me. I did use some items from my moms house for my wedding. She is a genius decorator so that was an easy choice.

“Bravo” to you for showing us this. I think any decor items can pass as used. I wish I would have had this resource when I got married. As a fab event designer/planner, what do you think is within the limits of using “gently used”?
